Our Nursery and school admission arrangements are as detailed in the Borough Primary Schools Information Booklet. Copies are available from our school office or online.
We invite all parents/carers to visit our school with their child, to see our school in action and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
Arrangements for the admission of pupils with disabilities
In line with the Disability Discrimination Act we will ensure that no pupil is refused admission to our school on the grounds of disability, where it is the school of parents’/carers’ choice. We work in consultation with the Local Authority to assess specific needs and ensure that admission would be possible should any adaptations to our buildings be required.
Home/School Transfer for Nursery and Reception Children
We aim to make the transition from home to school as smooth as possible. In addition to visiting our school with their parent/carer, children entering nursery and reception classes are given the opportunity to meet their new teachers and spend time in their new classrooms before they start at school. In September, children who are beginning pre-school and nursery will start on different dates over the first few weeks to ensure that they have time to settle in. Information about the dates of these visits will be sent to parents and carers nearer the time. Nursery children who join our school in January and April will also receive a home visit prior to starting school.
