We had a brilliant time learning at Butser Ancient Farm yesterday, as part of our 'Homes through the Ages' topic!
We spent time in an Iron Age roundhouse and Roman villa, comparing and contrasting these buildings and how people lived. We also learned about (and tried out!) ancient building techniques - our wattle and daub walls were incredibly strong - and, in teams, took on the roles of Romans or Celts to see who could build the best stone pathway!
After lunch, we used our artistic skills to design our very own authentic Roman mosaics before heading home - we loved our time at Butser Ancient Farm!
