Year 6

Climate Change

This week in topic, we have begun to understand the concept of a carbon footprint. As part of this, we applied our atlas skills to locate countries on a world wide map and identified the countries which emit the most carbon dioxide per person. We used a key to shade the map and noticed that the more developed countries had larger carbon footprints. Following on from this, we then identified some of the impacts of climate change including; droughts, melting ice and destruction of coral reefs.

In music, we have explored the characteristics of ternary form. As part of this we have appraised a range of pieces of music and decided whether they were ternary or binary. We enjoyed working with talk partners to discuss which pieces we preferred and which we thought could be improved.
