Electric Scooters
We have been advised by the local neighbourhood police team to alert parents to the fact that the use of privately owned electric scooters on roads and pavements is illegal. You can see the current legislation here: https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/rs/road-safety/advice-escooters/
The only places that these scooters can be used is on privately owned land and if anyone is caught using them on public roads and pavements, they are subject to substantial fines and penalties.
Further guidance can be found here: https://www.pacts.org.uk/e-scooters-in-the-uk-misconceptions-challenges-and-what-comes-next/#overview
We have seen several children and parents using these electric vehicles to attend school and don’t want anyone to get hurt or face prosecution for their illegal use - please can you ensure that the correct guidance is followed.

Half Term Family Fun Activity

Governor Updates
We held our latest Full Governing Board (FGB) meeting last night and had lots of interesting discussions and data to review. Based on the latest information on pupil performance and governor curriculum monitoring reports, governors were keen to ensure that all staff were rewarded for their hard work and dedication to the school. This morning, all staff were treated to a tasty breakfast as a way of saying thank you from the governors for all the efforts that go into the education and care of your children.
We also had the opportunity to review the findings from the Smartphone survey that was sent out several weeks ago. Unfortunately, only 12 parents had completed the survey which gives it limited scope to guide us in our decision making. We are therefore, unless there are further announcements from the local authority or government, planning to continue with our current policy. The school will remain smartphone free in that pupils are not allowed to use them during the school day but for the reasons previously highlighted, we are not making a full ban at this point.
Happy Half-Term
Wishing you all a fabulous half-term break from school. I hope that you all get a good rest and plenty of fun times with family and friends. School starts back again on Monday 2nd June for the final stretch until the summer holiday. Thank you for your continued support.
