Emotionally Based School Avoidance - Parent Workshop

If you are interested in attending, please send an email to deborah.fossey@kop.rbksch.org
The aim of this workshop is:
To explore the current understanding around emotionally based school avoidance, what factors might affect it from a parent and school perspective and what could be helpful in terms of managing thoughts, feelings and behaviours. EBSA is not a child problem, it is a problem around the child and as such our workshop aims to look at the issue holistically.
- This workshop will provide you with background information about EBSA
- Space to think about any behaviour that you may witness from your child/children, and what this might mean for them and you
- Practical ideas and tools to support with emotional regulation
- There will also be time to ask questions at the end
If you would like further information about this, or any other work offered by the Mental Health Support Team, please speak to the designated Mental Health Lead, Deborah Fossey. We look forward to seeing you.
PSA Summer Fair + Non-Uniform Day donations
Thank you to everyone who participated in our PSA Non-Uniform Day today to raise donations for the Summer Fair. There were lots of great contributions to the bottle tombola and sweets and chocolates donated for the event. I hope that everyone has the date firmly in their calendar - the weather looks like it is going to be good and I am sure it will be a brilliant day out!

Year 1 Phonic Screening / Year 4 Times Tables Tests
Well done to all our children in Year 4 and Year 1 who have been completing statutory testing over the past two weeks. Year 1 children have been completing their phonic screening and Year 4 their online multiplication tests. All the children have approached the tests very positively and we have been incredibly proud of their determination and skills shown. Parents will get the results of these tests with your annual reports sent out at the end of term.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend and that the celebrations for Father's Day on Sunday go well. Best wishes to all the King's Oak dads and significant males for a fun and relaxing day. Next week we look forward to the start of our sports mornings with Reception on Wednesday and Year 1 on Friday.
Thank you
