Safety at dismissal
Can we please remind parents about the importance of keeping your child close to you after they have been collected from the classrooms. We have seen several incidents of children nearly leaving the site unsupervised as they are either too far ahead or too far behind the adult that has collected them. If you could support by actively engaging with your child and ensuring that they are close to you it would be much appreciated.
Pre and Post Diagnosis Support Team Coffee Morning - Wednesday 8th October 9:30 - 11:00
The Pre and Post Diagnosis Support Team support families with advice and strategies for their children. They provide advice and support for toileting, eating, behaviour, sleep and parents/carers own wellbeing. They also signpost parents to other services. The Team is coming to King's Oak, bringing their advice and support to us! They are hosting a coffee morning at King's Oak where our parents/carers can drop in and get some support or just have a general chat about what they offer. Please take this opportunity to come along and learn more about what they do or get some support on a specific concern you have about your child.
Year 3 Forest School

This week I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Year 3 Forest School session in the Berrlylands Nature Reserve. It was their first session of their year long Forest School programme and the children all did a fantastic job with their creative skills and excellent behaviour. The Forest School programme offers significant benefits for children's development, fostering improvements in social and emotional skills, such as confidence and independence, and promoting physical development through hands-on activities. It also enhances language and communication skills, boosts cognitive development by stimulating problem-solving and creativity, and nurtures an environmental awareness and a connection to nature. Long-term engagement in Forest School is associated with a more positive attitude toward learning and school, contributing to overall well-being and resilience.
School Photographs
Coming up on Monday 6th October, all the children will be having their individual and sibling photographs taken for you to purchase and to update their Arbor profiles. This year we are also planning to have professional class photographs taken - these will be done in the Summer Term. Please make sure that your children are looking smart on Monday 6th for their photographs - correct school uniform and neat hair!
