Autumn Term Yr 1 to 6 Parent Consultations
Thank you to everyone who has already booked your parent consultation meetings for next week - so far we have just over 50% coverage so still a lot of parents that need to book your appointments! Bookings close at midday on Monday so please get in quick with your Arbor account to make a booking at a suitable time. If you are unable to make either of the sessions next week, please contact your child's class teacher to find an alternative slot.
Christmas Performances
Please see the dates below for the Christmas Performances taking place at the end of term. The dates are also on the school online calendar. At the performances last year, the hall felt very congested and some parents struggled to see their children perform, so this year, for the phase performances we are going to have two shows - please only attend one performance and don't bring the entire extended family and next door neighbours! Hopefully this will enable you to comfortably see your star shining on stage and enjoy the festive performance!

Kingston Early Intervention and SEND Cluster Pilot Project Project Information and Survey
We are pleased to share with you that our school has joined with a group of Primary and Secondary schools across the local authority to be part of a pilot cluster project. This project runs for the course of this academic year and seeks to enhance our expertise and provision for children who have additional
and/or special educational needs and disabilities.
This project gives us access to an additional budget and a new way of working across schools taking part. We are able to use these additional funds to enhance the quality and timeliness of our response to emerging and additional needs of pupils in our school, and to learn from the schools and their staff teams.
The project’s aim is to improve outcomes for pupils and families and to be in a better position to respond in a more efficient manner. As all families know, we are committed to improving mainstream inclusivity in our school.
This is an exciting opportunity for us as it places us in a unique position in relation to other schools in the local area. We are anticipating that it also places us ahead of potential national educational reforms across the SEND system, and to help prove that focusing on and investing in early intervention and collaboration across schools and professionals is a proven way forward for our local communities.
The pilot project is being carefully structured, managed and evaluated in order to consider the level of impact and learning of parental confidence in the support and provision for your child. This evaluation needs data from you to help us to evaluate the project outcomes. At the end of the pilot, results will be shared with you so that you are clear on what we have learned.
As part of this we invite you to complete a short (6 question) survey so that we can establish the position of our parents at the outset of this project. We expect to repeat this survey at the end of this academic year in July 2026.

If you have any questions about our participation in this project, please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a discussion with a member of our senior leadership team. We ask that responses are given by Friday 24th October 2025.
Online safety and gaming
Many of our pupils love playing online games - they can be fun, creative and a great way to connect with friends! However, it is important that children stay safe while gaming.
Here are some excellent steps you can take as a parent to guide your child to safe and healthy online gaming.
- Get involved by finding out what type of games your child enjoys and making sure they’re appropriate for their age.
- Play games together with your child and keep the technology in shared family spaces rather than bedrooms.
- Talk to them about who they are playing with and what information they are sharing.
- Talk about what information is and isn’t appropriate to share, particularly personal details that could identify them or their location.
- Talk about the financial costs of games and agree on how children will spend their money online.
- Discuss what they would do if they were bullied online, and what the appropriate steps to take are.
- Ensure you have set up accounts yourself on regularly checked email addresses and with appropriate settings for your child’s age.
- Agree how long is appropriate to play in one session and how many sessions in a day. Then set these restrictions in parental settings with your child.
