World Book Day

On Thursday this week we celebrated World Book Day with a visit from author Mrs P. She shared her book Jessie and Jojo with each phase of the school and talked to the children about the writing process, the characters and important messages in the book. The story is all about managing your worries and emotions - getting a grip on the 'bother bugs' who might be causing you to worry about something and how you can deal with your worries by sharing them with others. The children had a great day and looked fantastic in their array of emotion representing colours!
Bikeability

Congratulations to all the children in Year 5 and 6 who have this week successfully completed their Bikeability training. This fantastic opportunity ensures that the children know if their bike is safe to ride and teaches them the skills they need to ride and navigate the roads. It is wonderful that so many of the children had the chance to complete this course and gain such valuable skills. Special thanks to the Bikeability instructors for delivering these sessions for our children.
Year 2 Boys Football Festival
Our team of Year 2 footballers showed impressive skills and determination this week at a borough football festival. They worked well together to play a series of matches against other local schools. On display were some solid defence, good goalkeeping skills, accurate striking and overall good teamplay and sportsmanship. The team were very proud of their medals and represented the values of King's Oak brilliantly throughout the event. Well done everyone!
