Year 6 SATs
Next week our Year 6 pupils will get the chance to show off their brilliant English and maths skills in the KS2 SATs. These statutory national tests in grammar, spelling, reading and maths will be taking place between Monday and Thursday. If you have a child in Year 6, please give them the best opportunity to shine by making sure that they are well rested and nourished ahead of next week. I know that they will do their best to represent the school and themselves brilliantly and look forward to seeing how maturely and capably they approach the testing process next week.
Busy Bees
Everyone loves to visit King's Oak and today even a swarm of bees came to see how well everyone was doing. They started off by joining KS1 in the Year 1 garden but then got interested to see what was happening in the KS2 playground. They eventually settled on a lamp-post - I am sure that they will not find this a suitable home and will soon buzz-off to find a new place to live!

Caterlink - packed lunch change
Can all parents please take note that Caterlink have made a change to their packed lunch menu. When they provide lunches for children going on a school visit, they will no longer be providing a bottle of water. This decision is linked to environmental concerns around single use plastic. Please can you ensure that all children have a water bottle with them each day, even if they are going on a visit - this will ensure that children can stay healthy and hydrated - thank you.
