Annual Reports

Today you should have received a hard copy of your child's annual report - I hope that you find it informative and helpful in supporting them in their ongoing learning journey. As mentioned in the report cover letter, teachers will be available after school on Tuesday 15th July between 15:30 and 16:30 should you have any questions or wish to discuss any element of the report with them.  Staff will also be pleased to meet any of their new children who might wish to pop in and see them during this time.

Attached with the newsletter email you should have also received the staff profile document so that you can find out a little bit about your child's new teachers.

Governor Updates

The Governing Board held their final meeting of the academic year last night and had many interesting discussions and reports to review.  We started by welcoming two new associate members to the board, Kate Cockle and Rosemary Hafeez - both have previously worked with the school in their professional capacities but are now, post retirement, keen to support the school in a voluntary role. We hope that they will find their new roles interesting and rewarding.

We also reviewed the current academic year's School Development Plan.  It was pleasing to see the progress that the school has made with the teaching of phonics, the achievement of the Attachment Aware School Award, reduction in food waste and work to ensure that the children have strategies to improve recall and retention of topics taught to them.

Finally, we said a fond farewell to the Clerk to Governing Board, Anne Jones, who is retiring at the end of term.  Anne has been the Clerk for seven years and has worked with the governing board to oversee much change and development within the school.  She has been an exceptional Clerk and supported the governors and the school community very effectively.  We wish her well for the future.

Caterlink - Wimbledon Day

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Caterlink Wimbledon Day today to celebrate Wimbledon fortnight.  The children loved the strawberries and cream and enjoyed the sporting celebrations and decorations in the servery.  Thanks to Kim and her team for making this event possible.
