Sports Day Class Winners

Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us for our year group sports mornings - the children all did a great job with their sporting skills, motivation and enthusiasm.  Each class earned points for their positions in each event.  Now that all the sports mornings have taken place, we are able to let you know who are class champions are for this year.

1st Place - 6HR

2nd Place - 4DC

3rd Place - 3TH

Well done to our top three classes and to all the children who competed - you were all brilliant!

Darwin Rocks

Well done to Year 6 for their fantastic performances this week of Darwin Rocks.  They were so confident and learnt so many lines and songs, giving their all in the performances.  There were some classic comedy moments and also an opportunity for us all to learn some science facts and information about the life of Charles Darwin - perfect preparation for the children as they begin the KS3 science curriculum!

Year 6 Leavers' Party

Year 6 were also busy dancing on the stage this week at their leavers' party! They had an amazing time with lovely food, drink, an ice-cream station, candy floss machine, dancing, bungee run and inflatable target board.  Thanks to the PSA and parent volunteers for making such a brilliant event possible - a great way for the children to end their primary school career and create lasting memories of their time at King's Oak.

Kingston Library Service Summer Reading Challenge

I am hoping that lots of our families will be able to sign up to take part in the summer holiday reading challenge.  This is a great way to keep up with reading over the summer break and for your chance to win some prizes.  Let me know in September how you got on - hopefully King's Oak children can represent themselves really well in this challenge.

Use this form to register for the reading challenge.

Child anxiety workshops

I hope that you all have a most wonderful summer break and that you are able to relax and get well prepared for the start of the Autumn Term.  I look forward to seeing everyone back on Wednesday 3rd September.

Attendance Matters!

Even though we moved the end of term to a Friday and matched our term dates with local secondary schools, sadly, our attendance has taken a real hit this week.  As you can see below, our top class only managed to hit 95% and our lowest class was at 82%!  Hopefully we can get our data back on track with a strong start to the new term on Wednesday 3rd September with everyone back in school!

1st - 3TH - 95.4%

2nd - 5KK - 93.7%

3rd - 6AS - 93.4%
