Air Filtration Project

I am pleased to be able to inform you that we are one of 200 successful schools in gaining access to the Mayor of London's School Filters Programme. This means that we now have air filtration machines in every classroom. The air filters will help to reduce air pollution by removing particulates that are generated indoors or enter the classrooms from nearby sources, like roads. The cleaner air will hopefully lower rates of respiratory infection, improve attendance and potentially improve academic outcomes. We will be monitoring the impact of the air filters and the children will also be having workshops as part of the project to help them understand their purpose and impact.

Christmas Performances
Next week sees the start of our Christmas performances - the children have been working very hard to learn the lines, songs, drama and dances for the shows - the bits of them that I have seen have been excellent. As mentioned previously, to ensure that everyone has a good view in the shows, please only attend one show per child and don't bring the entire extended family or next door neighbours!

Use of Play Equipment Before and After School
Please can you ensure that your children are not using any of the climbing frames or structures before or after school. We've had a few incidents over the last couple of weeks of children playing on the equipment - when staff members are not present, it is not safe to do so. I understand how tempting it is for the children but your support with this is much appreciated.
Newsletter Readership
We work really hard to try and communicate effectively with our community - our weekly newsletter is the main source of communication and we would hope that everyone takes the opportunity each week to read the latest news and updates from each year group. However, we often get comments from parents claiming that they don't know what is going on and then they tell us that they don't read the newsletter! As a reward to you for reading the newsletter today - please click this link to enter a prize draw as a newsletter reader!
Thanks to everyone who supported the ECO Refill Shop after school today - have a great weekend.
