KS2 Panathlon

Huge congratulations to the fantastic team of athletes from KS2 who represented King’s Oak at the borough Panathlon tournament this week that took place at The Kingston Academy. They competed against eight other schools and took part in a range of sporting events including bowling, basketball, football, curling and throwing activities.  They all worked well together as a team and came away as the silver medal winners - what a great result!

Eco Refill Shop Survey

Thank you to everyone who supported the King’s Oak Refill Rescue shop last Friday after school.
The King’s Oak Refill Rescue Team are working hard to reduce plastic waste - we’ve now managed to save over 50 plastic bottles!  Please can we ask you to complete this very short survey to help us understand how our scheme is helping you to refill, and how we can improve our business, with many thanks from the King’s Oak Refill Rescue Team.

London Broncos - free match tickets

The London Broncos Rugby Club are offering Complimentary Tickets to Schools to the match vs Salford on 22nd March at Cherry Red Records Stadium in Wimbledon (3pm Kick Off). This initiative will not only give a fantastic opportunity for pupils to witness professional rugby league in person, it also aims to inspire them to get involved in rugby league themselves, ahead of the 2026 London Junior League Season, which kicks off in April.

Email foundation@londonbroncosrl.com to access your complimentary ticket code.

Easter Music Explorers

Kingston Music Service (KMS) is running Music Explorers, a fun, inclusive 4‑day holiday music course for children in Years 2–6 at Hook Centre (Mon 30 Mar – Thu 2 Apr 2026). Each day blends hands‑on music-making with art and active games. Children can try a variety of instruments (or bring their own). Mid‑morning snack and lunch are included.

Times: 10am–2pm (optional extended hours from 9am and/or until 4pm)
Fees: From £0 (FUEL) or from £160 for the core 4‑day course
Booking/info/enquiries: kingstonheritage.org.uk/kmscourses

Parent Governor Vacancy

Please note that we currently have a vacancy for a new parent governor.  Information from the board of governors will be coming out soon with details about the role and the application and selection process.  Please use this time to think if this might be a role that you would consider or if you can think of another King's Oak parent that you would like to nominate!  Further details will be out soon, I very much hope that we can find a candidate to take on this important role in supporting the school.

I hope that you all have a great weekend and enjoy some Mother's Day celebrations and fun.
