Well done Year 6
Congratulations to Year 6 for the positivity, determination and resilience shown during the Year 6 SATs week. They had to sit six exams and deal with all the disruption to their normal schedules with changes to breaktimes and spending time in other classes as the exam timetables evolved. They did a great job and hopefully their test scores will reflect the effort that they have put into the preparation for and hard work during this week.
Walk to School Week 2026
Next week is Walk to School Week hosted by the Living Streets. This year's challenge will see pupils set off on a special operation - codename Mission Move, to try and complete the five day walking challenge. If you could try and support this next week that would be brilliant - and when you read the next article below, it could even be a quicker way to get to school!
Dickerage Lane Road Closure - round 2!
Unfortunately, we have just been informed that from the 18th May for
approximately six weeks, works on the Kingston to New Malden cycleway will recommence. As part of the project, the bus stop next to California Road will be suspended. There will be three way traffic lights on Kingston Road and Dickerage Lane will be closed again. As this happened previously a few months ago, we are all aware of the impact that this will have on local traffic and access to school so please take this into account when planning your journey to and from school.
Panathlon Challenge at King's Oak
King’s Oak is excited to be taking part in a Panathlon next week, a national
programme that provides sporting opportunities for children and young people with disabilities and special educational needs. Panathlon events are designed to build confidence, teamwork and self-belief through inclusive and engaging activities.
The event will be run in school, giving children from across King’s Oak the opportunity to participate in a range of fun, skill-based sporting activities together. We are looking forward to celebrating participation, encouragement and achievement, while giving all pupils the chance to enjoy being active in a supportive and inclusive environment.
