Reception Sports Day
Our season of sports days kicked off in great style on Thursday with the Reception sports day. They did a fantastic job in the range of races - hurdles, bean bag balancing and even a crab race! The children were very enthusiastic and motivated and worked well together in their colour teams. Thank you to the families who came on to cheer on the athletes. Well done everyone! Next week we look forward to the KS1 Sports Day - the weather looks like it will be very hot so please come prepared as shade is limited.
PSA Summer Fair
Thank you to everyone who supported the PSA with the donations today for the tombola stalls at next week's Summer Fair - it looks like the tombola stalls will be very well stocked and worth several goes! The PSA will have a pop-up stall in the playground after school on Monday to sell ice-poles and start the guess the name of the bears activities. I hope that you will all be able to attend the Summer Fair after school next Friday!

Parents and Carers - an opportunity to help AFC understand your childcare needs and how they can develop the local childcare sector to meet them
Access Parent and Family Childcare Survey here.
Every year councils have to report on childcare in their area to ensure they are meeting the needs of families and their children. In Kingston and Richmond the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment report is produced by Achieving for Children, who provide children’s services for Kingston and Richmond councils.
To build a clear picture of childcare (for both early years and School age children) across our area, and how well it meets the needs of local families, we are asking parents and carers who either currently use childcare or need to use childcare to complete our Parents and Family Childcare Survey - this survey is anonymous.
Your feedback will help us understand what is working well, identify any gaps and inform how we can better support families and develop local childcare provision.
Parents and carers: please spend time completing this annual survey and share your views and childcare needs - your contribution is extremely valuable and we hope to receive a wide range of responses representing the needs of all families.
The survey outcomes will be included in our annual Childcare Sufficiency Assessments which are published each Autumn and also shared with the Department of Education. You can view our last year's report here:

FUEL Summer Clubs
If you have a child or children who receive benefits-related free school meals, this means they are eligible to attend the FUEL (Feed Ur Everyday Lives) programme which provides fantastic free holiday and activity clubs for children in reception up to year 11 who are receiving benefits related free school meals.
This Summer, between 20th June and 2nd September 2026, there are lots of clubs and activities to choose from and they run across a range of dates, time and locations. The activities should appeal to all different ages and interests and clubs will work with you to support your children if they have any additional needs.
Clubs and activities include: dance, yoga; technology and coding; skateboarding; art and crafts; cooking; indoor climbing and lots of sports such as cricket, football, netball, tennis, rugby, judo, boxing and some swimming.
When children and young people come to a FUEL club they will be given a hot meal, have the chance to learn about the importance of eating food that is good for you, make friends and try lots of activities.
Club bookings open today and you can book up to 16 sessions with FUEL providers by visiting our booking website via the link below. If you do book a place and then cannot attend for any reason, please cancel the space with the provider as soon as possible so we can offer the place to another family. Although the clubs are provided free of charge to eligible families, there are costs to run each session and non attendance does mean the funding we get to run the programme cannot be used to support as many children and young people as we would want to.
We are no longer using the FUEL codes and you can book on to holiday clubs by just using your child or children’s names and dates of birth.
