Playing on ice
I am sure that you will have all seen the tragic news regarding the deaths of four young children from falling into freezing water after falling through ice.  Please can you use this as an opportunity to talk to your own children about the dangers of playing on ice and also what to do if they see someone else who has fallen through ice.  The link below from the Royal Life Saving Society could be helpful for you.  This is particularly relevant at this time as we have been under freezing conditions for such an extended period of time.

Shows
This has been a very theatrical week with our children putting on their Christmas performances and Year 2 and Year 6 even finding the time to go out and see professional theatre productions too.  Year 2 went to the Polka Theatre to see the festive comedy, Crackers and Year 6 visited The Rose Theatre to see A Christmas Carol.  Thank you to all the staff and children for all the additional effort in putting the shows together and taking the children out of school for the opportunity to see a live performance.

Parent Staff Association PSA Updates

We are so grateful for all the positive feedback we have received in regards to the grotto, and would like to thank everyone who attended.

We are already thinking ahead and planning for next year's event. As part of this, in the new year, we will be collecting donations of the following;

  • Chocolate or biscuit tins / boxes
  • Christmas decorations
  • Christmas trees
  • Unwanted Christmas presents
  • Children's Christmas jumpers
  • Children's dressing up clothes
  • School uniform (in a good condition)
  • Children's coats

We would like to thank you all for your support this year and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We look forward to seeing you all in the new year, where we can continue fun events for the children and raise much needed funds for the school.

Attached with this newsletter is the first edition of our newsletter - we hope that you find it useful in seeing what we have been doing and the impact of your support.

Have a lovely Christmas
I hope that you all have a very happy and healthy festive break.  The children return to school on Wednesday 4th January 2023 and I look forward to seeing you all then.  Merry Christmas to you all.
