Breakfast Club and After School Club
Due to increasing costs, we will need to slightly increase our charges for both Breakfast and After School club in the new academic year - September 2026.

The new charges are as follows:

Breakfast club - £6
After School club 15:15 - 16:30 - £9
After School club 15:15 - 18:00 - £13

We are pleased that this still represents very good value for money and compares favourably to the rates charged by other schools.  However, we now need to start charging for late collections. We will be charging £5 per child if collection is more than 5 minutes late. This will be invoiced to you separately and will need to be paid prior to your next booking to ensure any future bookings.

Great British Summer Savings Scheme

From 25 June to 1 September 2026, the Government is temporarily cutting VAT from 20% to 5% on children's meals in restaurants, children and family tickets to cinemas, theatres, concerts and exhibitions, and admission to a wide range of attractions. Combined with free bus travel during August for children aged 5 to 15 in England, families and young people will be able to enjoy experiences that make summer special, including visits to the kinds of cultural and educational attractions that enrich children's lives outside the classroom.  Hopefully, this scheme will make a difference to your summer plans and allow everyone to access more fun activities!

St. John’s Summer Fair

The St. John's community is highly supportive of King's Oak so I very much hope that many of you will be able to return the favour by attending their Summer Fun Day on Saturday 18th July - please support them if you can.

SEN Pilot survey
We are pleased to update you that we are nearing the end of our first year of working with a group of Primary and Secondary schools across the local authority as part of a pilot cluster project. The project has run for the duration of this academic year and brought opportunities for us to enhance our expertise and provision for children who have additional and/or special educational needs and disabilities.

The aim of the project was to improve outcomes for pupils and families and to be in a better position to respond in a more efficient manner. As all families know, we are committed to improving mainstream inclusivity in our school. It was exciting for us to work ahead of the SEND reforms that are now underway.

The project has helped us to demonstrate and emphasise the importance of focusing on and investing in early intervention and collaboration across schools and professionals.

This project gave us access to an additional budget and a new way of working across schools taking part. We believe that we have made good use of these additional funds to enhance the quality and timeliness of our response to emerging and additional needs of pupils in our school, and to learn from other schools and their staff teams.

However, we need your help as the project is being carefully evaluated in order to decide if we have made a difference to parent confidence in the support and provision for your child. This learning will inform further cluster work as the SEND reforms continue.

As part of this we invite you to complete a short (6 question) survey so that we can establish the position of our parents at the outset of this project. Findings from the pilot project will be communicated early in the next academic year. Please click the link to provide your views: https://forms.gle/8uuzjg9z6erh715D6

If you have any questions about our participation in this project, please do not hesitate to contact the school and arrange a discussion with a member of our SEN team. We ask that responses are given by Friday 24th July 2026.
