Year 6 Production - Hercules and Phoebe

Congratulations to Year 6 for their wonderful production of Hercules and Phoebe.  After all the rehearsals, they put on a production for the whole school to watch and then two performances for parents.  The show contained a great variety of skills - there was excellent singing, acting, dancing and comedy.  They should be very proud of their achievement and hopefully take these skills and confidence forward to support them for the start of Year 7.

Mental Health Support Team

ECO Refill Shop

Our ECO Refill Shop has been part of a team effort across the country and we are very pleased to be able to report that the whole team has worked effectively together to save 25,000 plastic containers from waste - thank you to everyone who has supported the project this year.

Year 6 Leavers' Party

Thanks to the amazing PSA for putting on such an amazing leavers' party for Year 6 this week! They had a fabulous time and enjoyed the bouncing dome, wrestling costumes, huge buffet of food, mocktail station, ice-cream stand and lots of props to make the party even more fun!  Hopefully you can see from the pictures above just how much fun it was.

St. John's Summer Fun Day

Please remember to try and support the St. John's Summer Fun Day tomorrow if you can.  They are incredibly supportive to our school so if we can give them some support back, it would be much appreciated.

Snapchat

We have heard from a few children this week that they have been using Snapchat so want to ensure that all parents understand the social media rules.

Snapchat is a communication service popular among teens and adults.  Users can take photos, record videos, add text or drawings (called Snaps) and send them to friends.  The minimum age to use Snapchat is 13 – Snapchat is committed to removing any accounts that belong to an underage user.  Similar to other social media platforms, common risks on Snapchat include:

  • contact from potentially harmful strangers
  • seeing inappropriate content
  • endless scrolling (or 'doom scrolling')
  • bullying, harassment or hate from both friends and strangers
  • disappearing messages, which can make it hard to collect evidence in cases of bullying or similar behaviours

Momentum Sports Taster Session

Thank you for reading the last newsletter of the academic year! I hope that you are all able to have a relaxing and fun summer break.  I look forward to seeing you on Monday 7th September for the start of the Autumn Term.
