Year 2

Djembe Drums and Wetlands Trip

Year 2 had a very musical start to the week. They had Djembe drum tuition with Vincent and thoroughly enjoyed learning how to hold the drums and play a rhythm or two. As you can imagine, it was very noisy, but an awful lot of fun.

They also saw Mr Condry, and practised singing with him. They learnt the fruit salad song and how to warm up their voices. The children are looking forward to adding more songs to their repertoire.

In maths, the children have continued to learn about fractions 1/2, 1/4 and 1/3. In art, the children have been learning about block printing, using polystyrene tiles.

Our trip to Wetlands Centre, London, was a huge success. The children got to explore the entire site, play in the adventure playground and see Ava. They helped her solve lots of quests before helping her fly off on her adventure to find her family in Senegal.

The children will all be receiving a complimentary ticket for your entire family to go to the centre on a day of your choosing. Please use these, it is a lovely day out and right on our doorstep in Barnes!
