Year 2

Country dancing
It has been another busy week in Year 2.
The children finished learning about fractions in maths. They are now learning about money. It would be helpful if, when you are out shopping, you could give your child/ren the opportunity to handle coins. Reminding them of the value and having them think about the change that they might get from a certain amount.
We have come to the end of our book, 'The Lonely Sea Dragon'. Next week, we will start our new book, 'The Jolly Roger'.
The children enjoyed transferring their owl images onto polystyrene tiles this week. Hopefully, next week they will be able to print them onto paper.
In PE, the children continue to learn their dances for the Country Dancing Festival. They have now learnt 'Ping!' , 'Pat a Cake Polka' and 'Donkey Riding'. They have four more to learn over the coming weeks.
In music, we have also been practising our songs. All children should now have a lyric booklet. Please help them learn the lyrics to the songs. I am sure they would love to sing to you!
Thank you for your support.
