Year 2

English, maths and more

It has been exceedingly hot this week, both inside and out. The children have worked hard to manage their distractions and give 100% to their learning.

On Tuesday, we started our new book 'George's Marvellous Medicine' by Roald Dahl. So far, the children seem to be really enjoying it, particularly the description of Grandma. They are excited to see what happens next.

In maths, we have been consolidating our learning of 10s and 1s, and have spent time investigating more mathematical problems. Here was today's - perhaps you might like a go...

Next week, it is the Country Dancing Festival on Wednesday. We would like to see if any parents are available to meet at Kings Meadow at 8:15ish to help us set up the gazebos and the maypole etc. We would also like some volunteers to bring cut-up orange slices or ice for the cooler to help keep the water bottles cool. If you can do any of these, it would be much appreciated. Please let one of the Year 2 team know. Thanks!
