Year 6

Thames Young Mariners

This week some of Year 6 went to Thames Young Mariners. Here is a review written by one of the attendees:

The activities were really fun and usually took place on water. All the safety precautions were followed (+1 in terms of rating). We did paddle boarding and kayaking in our time there, but there were land based activities as well: orienteering, code breaking and the challenge course. So overall there were five activities. In paddle boarding we got to jump into the water while paddle boarding (we had life jackets and were leashed to our boards, of course!) 10/10. In kayaking we played a bunch of fun water-based games but sadly no cooling down in the water for us - if we wanted to we had to wait until the end of the session and jump into the water from a cliff 1 meter high! 6.5/10. Orienteering was fun but exhausting, but we played a fun game at the end! 8/10. Code breaking was pretty much the same as orienteering, except we made clues for people to find large red cones hidden around the site! 8.4/10. The challenge course was extremely fun and exhilarating. 9.5/10. So 10+6.5+8+8.4+9.5=42.4
