Reception

Heat and a little bit of harvesting!

This week we have been carrying on looking at Pirates love Underpants and the children have enjoyed editing some sentences and making them different. In maths we have been looking at number bonds and using 10's frames.

Next week we will start to collect the phonics books and reading records ready for next year. Please don't worry if it doesn't come home, we have kept it.

The children have been practising heat aware safety, dodging sun and hiding in shade. We have conducted a few experiments like how hot does something get if left in the sun? Is the garden dry or wet under the soil?

We have dug up some potatoes and onions that we have been growing and next week we plan to cook a few and maybe make a little salad. The children have been very attentive and motivated gardeners, they really do love taking care of our vegetable patch.

Have a lovely weekend from the Reception team.
