Reception

Alan's big scary teeth!
We've had a fantastic week in Reception, full of creativity, learning, and laughter! One of the highlights was reading the story Alan’s Big Scary Teeth by Jarvis. The children loved meeting Alan and learning all about his not-so-scary secret – it sparked some discussions and giggles!
In class, we’ve been focusing on developing our fine motor skills. The children have enjoyed activities such as painting and cutting, which are not only great fun but also help strengthen hand muscles and improve pen grip – an important foundation for writing.
It’s been lovely to see the children growing in confidence as they settle into our routines and build friendships. They are becoming increasingly independent and curious learners!
We’re excited to be sending home our first phonics books. These are designed to support the sounds we’ve been learning in class and help develop early reading skills. Please take a few minutes each day to read with your child – it really does make a huge difference.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We can’t wait for another fun-filled week of learning!
