The children have had another busy week in Year 2. In maths, they have been learning to add three addends and now understand that they can be added in any order. They have used part, part whole models, number lines and 10s frames to help them. 

In English, they have written a shared letter to Mr White thanking him for his help. On Monday, they will be writing a letter back to the penguins from Mr White by themselves. Today, they will role play the response to help them get into character. 

In art, the children learnt about the artist Picasso, they looked at his portraits and studied his blue period pieces. 

They then drew a portrait in pencil in the style of Picasso and painted it in hues, shades and tones of blue, or red. 

In PE, they have continued to learn team games and how to move carefully through space.

In PSHE, they have looked at what they are good at, their goals and how to achieve them.
