The children have been exploring the weather and having fun learning about winter. On a windy day, we noticed all the leaves falling around us, we noticed the crunch of the leaves under our feet. To explore the wind further, the children made and decorated kites. We watched them float in the air as we ran across the playground holding them in the air. In the builder's tray we made snow for the children to explore and discover. The children made snowmen and we discussed what the snowman might wear; hat, scarf and gloves. 

On Thursday, the children were invited to wear Christmas jumpers. In our art area, the children had the opportunity to design their own Christmas jumpers. We introduced the children to safety scissors and taught the children how to use them safely while cutting tissue paper and art materials. 

Next week we will be reading a variety of different Christmas stories, starting with That's Not My Reindeer. We also have our Christmas performance and stay and play to look forward to.
