This term, Year 4 have been exploring the work of the famous Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, focusing on his iconic painting The Great Wave. The children carefully studied the colours, movement and shapes used to create such a powerful image. They then created their own wave artwork, experimenting with a variety of skills and materials, including pastels, pencils and watercolours. The children showed fantastic creativity and really enjoyed layering and blending different techniques to bring their waves to life.
