Year 5 are excited to be starting a new Design and Technology unit on Mechanisms: Levers and Linkages. During this unit, pupils will explore how simple mechanisms work and how movement can be created using a lever, linkage and pivot. They will learn and use key vocabulary such as mechanism and design brief before designing and making their own card with a moving picture. To support this project, we would really appreciate help from grown-ups at home. Please send in any clean, unwanted materials such as old cereal boxes, cardboard packaging, or unused Christmas cards that could be reused for our moving pictures.
