In maths this week, Year 1 have been learning how to use a systematic approach for investigating all the different possible number bonds to 10. We have used our 10 frames to help us, starting with all 10 counters in red and turning 1 over at a time until all are blue. This is helping us to learn the importance of using a sytem to cover all the possible combinations. On another note, we have noticed since half-term that some children in both classes have been bringing items from home to share with their friends. While we promote sharing as a positive thing to do, we have found that this has caused some distraction and a few arguments between children. Please can we ask parents and carers to do their best to discourage this! Many thanks, the Year 1 team.
