This week in maths, we have continued to consolidate our learning by linking and explaining the use of two as a factor and doubling. We have also been developing our skills in doubling two digit numbers, using a range of practical and written methods to support our understanding. 

In English, we have started working towards our final piece of independent writing. The children have edited and uplevelled their work, focusing on writing persuasively to convince Mr and Mrs Brown to send Paddington back to Darkest Peru.

Inspired by Paddington, our DT lessons have focused on instructional writing. We wrote clear instructions on how to make marmalade sandwiches, before putting them to the test this afternoon! We had great fun making and of course, eating the sandwiches. 

Next week, Year 2 will start reading the new book "The Tear Thief" written by Carol Ann Duffy.
