Year 2

Transporting Tears
This week in Year 2, we have been exploring the theme "Transporting Tears". The children have been designing and creating a vehicle to help the Tear Thief transport the tears she collects on her journey to the moon.
They worked hard to solve problems when building their vehicle, particularly when figuring out how to attach the axle to the chassis and wheels. The children learnt about free axles and fixed axles and enjoyed testing their ideas to see what worked best. They were very proud of their creations and loved seeing the final results come to life.
In English, the children developed their descriptive writing skills. They created engaging "wanted" and "missing" posters, using exciting vocabulary to make their writing more interesting and detailed.
In maths, the children focussed on grouping objects equally using division. They practised sharing and grouping to better understand how division works.
Next week is half-term! We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break and has a restful and fun holiday.
