Year 4

Music!
This week in Music, we listened to He Still Loves Me by Beyoncé and explored how it links to Lean On Me by Bill Withers. We listened carefully to both songs and identified the instruments we could hear. We also discussed the meaning behind each song and looked at how the music is structured.
The children compared the two songs and shared their opinions by rating them. We also had a discussion about different music genres and what they mean.
Next week, we will continue our work with Lean On Me. The children will practise clapping along to the beat and will begin exploring rhythm, rhyme and tempo within the song.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended parent consultations this week. It was lovely to speak with you about the children’s progress. If you have not yet had the chance to meet, please speak to the teacher to arrange a time.
A big thank you as well for your support with World Book Day – the children looked fantastic in their costumes and it was wonderful to see everyone celebrating all about reading.
Next week we will also be going on our trip to Canary Wharf - London Docklands Museum. More details and reminders will be shared with the children before the trip.
