Year 4

Conductors, Insulators and Circuits
This week in Year 4, we were learning about electricity by investigating which materials are conductors and which are insulators. We used various equipment from around our classroom and added them to a simple circuit to test whether they would work. We were very creative and thought outside the box with our circuits to see what would happen!
Next week, we will be learning all about switches and why they are important in electrical circuits. We will explore how switches can turn a circuit on and off and investigate different types of switches we use in everyday life. We will also focus on circuit safety and discuss how to use electrical equipment carefully and responsibly. The children will have the opportunity to build and test their own circuits with switches while continuing to develop their scientific enquiry skills.
