In support of our learning about plants and how they grow, Year 1 visited the Alric Avenue allotment site. We toured the whole site to see the variety of different plants that were growing there. We also saw a variety of insects, especially bees and butterflies, that all help to pollinate the different plant species. Furthermore, we learnt that allotments are not just for growing plants, as we saw several chicken enclosures around the site. We would like to say a big thank you to the allotment association and to all the adults who came with us to make this visit such a success. Finally, we would like to wish everyone a very relaxing half-term – but keep up the reading!
