This week in English, Year 4 have been busy writing exciting newspaper reports based on an alien attack inspired by the classic story War of the Worlds. We explored how to formulate a newspaper report, including the features of a newspaper article, formal grammar, and effective word choices to engage the reader. The children especially enjoyed creating fun, eye-catching headlines and worked hard on improving their handwriting presentation throughout the week.

After half term, we will begin exploring our next exciting text, Pandora’s Box, and we are looking forward to seeing where our learning takes us next.
