The children have enjoyed taking part in a friendly push-up competition. They have been encouraging one another, counting their push-ups, and developing their strength, perseverance, and confidence. It has been wonderful to see their excitement and determination as they challenged themselves and celebrated each other’s achievements.

We also have been reading The Gingerbread Man. The children have enjoyed listening to the story and joining in with the repeated phrase, “Run, run, as fast as you can, you can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!” We have also been singing songs related to the story and discussing the different characters.

We have been extending the children’s vocabulary through our story, introducing words such as chase, escape and sly. The children have enjoyed discussing their meanings and using them in their own sentences and play.
