This week’s learning has focused around getting to know each other and the expectations of Year 6. In PSHE, we have considered what makes a good friend, how a positive attitude can aid our well-being and how to maximise our dreams and minimise our worries. We have begun to think about our strengths and areas to develop in maths and English and have set ourselves S.M.A.R.T targets which we will review throughout the year. In art, we drew anime-style self-portraits as well as using our creativity to create scribble art names. The children have been given reading records and these are due on a Wednesday. Homework books will be handed out next week. 

Next week we will be: 

• Starting place value in maths, 

• Planning a diary entry based on Holes in English, 

• Starting ‘Electricity’ in science, 

• Starting our topic of WW2.
