Year 6

Topic
This week in topic, we have been researching Winston Churchill: who he was and his involvement in World War 2. Working independently, we have distilled information from a range of sources and created a short fact file covering: early life, politics, the army and later life. Reflecting back on our trip, we have worked collaboratively to determine the importance of certain items (including phones, clothes, toys) in our everyday lives and how it might feel to be evacuated. We have also reflected on the artefacts we saw at the Imperial War Museum and how this has helped us build upon our knowledge and understanding of what it might have been like for children living in the era.
Next week we will be:
-
Problem-solving in science,
-
Writing a missing person newsflash in English,
-
Looking at the importance of the ten commandments in Judaism in RE.
