This week in English we have been planning and writing missing person reports for the characters of Dad and Suki from our book, Letters From The Lighthouse. Using our success criteria of third person, 4 w’s, expanded noun phrases, formal and quotes, we have written short newsflashes to inform the public of their disappearance. In grammar, we have been focusing on identifying and changing sentences in both the active and passive voice and have included these in our writing. 

Over half-term, we have set a topic homework entitled ‘Britain At War’. Please ensure that your child starts this project as early as possible, as it will take a longer period of time than usual. Please could you also start to save and bring in cardboard recycling as we will be using this to build model Anderson Shelters after half-term. 

After half-term we will be: 

• Starting our new learning all about light in science, 

• Continuing to discuss our healthy self in PSHE, 

• Writing job descriptions in English.
