Nursery
Diwali Time
We have had a lovely, busy week in Nursery, full of exciting activities and opportunities to learn about different celebrations and cultures!
This week, we have been learning all about Diwali, the Festival of Lights. The children have really enjoyed exploring a range of fun, creative activities, including making beautiful Rangoli patterns and designing their own henna. We also had a go at making our very own mint and coriander chutney, which we enjoyed tasting with some delicious poppadoms! The children loved getting involved and exploring the different smells, textures and flavours.
On Friday, we had a fantastic time learning about Bonfire Night. We talked about fireworks and how people celebrate, before creating our very own class firework display! The children had great fun using their creativity and imagination to make colourful fireworks together.
Our story this week has been A Gift for Amma. This lovely book has inspired us to learn more about India, particularly its colourful markets. We have been discussing what we might see, hear and buy at a market, as well as exploring the different things that make Indian markets so special.
It has been wonderful to see the children's enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity throughout the week. We are looking forward to more exciting learning adventures next week!
Have a lovely weekend!
