Year 6

Charles Darwin
We have been writing non-chronological reports all about Charles Darwin, linking our English work with our science unit on Evolution and Inheritance. The children have enjoyed learning fascinating facts about Darwin’s life and discoveries, especially his voyage on the HMS Beagle and his observations in the Galápagos Islands. This writing task has given us a great opportunity to show off our grammar and punctuation skills, including using subheadings, technical vocabulary and a range of sentence structures. It also ties in beautifully with our upcoming school production, where themes of exploration and discovery will take centre stage. The children have worked incredibly hard and should feel proud of how they’ve brought their learning together across different subjects.
