Year 6

Art
This week in art we have evaluated the artwork of Charles Cundall. We have discussed how his watercolour paintings depicting the Battle Of Dunkirk create atmosphere and empathy. In preparation for our final piece, we have explored different watercolour techniques such as blotting, gradient washing and splattering. As part of the planning process, we have sketched a range of thumbnails to consider perspective and the position of key features such as the horizon and the beach.
Next week we will be looking at:
-
English - missing person reports
-
Maths - arithmetic and reasoning tests (to see where we are) and addition and subtraction
-
Science - exploring the effects of different components on an electrical circuit.
