Year 6

English
This week in English, we have been writing missing person reports to appeal to the public for help with finding a character in the story. We have organised our writing into three paragraphs and have included a physical description (using expanded noun phrases), different tenses (including past and present perfect), quotes from family members as well as the four w’s (when, where, what and who). Through shared writing, we have ensured that our writing is concise, precise, formal and written in the third person.
Next week we will be learning:
-
English - independent writing of a missing person report
-
Topic – exploring what it might have been like as an evacuee in the war
-
Computing – researching the history of computers from WW2 to modern day
-
Science – problem-solving around the construction, position and use of components in electrical circuits
