Year 6

Black History Month
This week in topic, we have been learning about the involvement of people from all over the world during WW2. In particular, we have focused on learning about significant people of colour linking with Black History Month. We have read and discussed first person recounts of people involved in all different types of jobs during WW2 including; bombers, soldiers and messengers. We have discussed what it might have felt like to be living during the time and have shown empathy for the stories heard.
Next week we will be:
-
Writing post cards from the perspective of Olive from Letters From The Lighthouse,
-
Starting ‘light’ unit of work in science,
-
Completing our artwork with origami boats,
-
Beginning to prepare for WW2 afternoon in November.
