Year 6

World War 2
This week in topic, we have been using a range of sources to research what it might have been like to be an evacuee during WW2. We have looked at newspaper articles, letters home and pictures to infer feelings and thoughts. We then imagined that we were going to be evacuated and wrote our evacuation tags.
Over half term, a WW2 themed project homework has been set and sent out with the children. Please could you also keep any cereal boxes and bring them in as we will need them after half term for our design and technology project.
When we come back to school we will be;
-
Investigating the fact that light travels in straight lines in science,
-
Evaluating designs of bomb shelters in design and technology,
-
Continuing to rehearse for WW2 afternoon,
-
Beginning to write poems based on the Blitz.
