Year 6

Topic

This week in topic, we have been exploring the statement: Just how happy were evacuees? We have examined a range of sources including photographs, newspaper articles and memoires of evacuees. Using role cards, we have considered an evacuee’s experience of the evacuation process and made a judgement on whether the view was positive, negative or neutral.

On Thursday it was lovely to see so many parents and carers attend our World War 2 afternoon. The children did a fantastic job of acting out drama sketches, reciting a poem, singing a song and performing a dance as well as sharing their topic work and homework projects.

Next week we will be:

  • Starting to rehearsal for our Christmas performance,

  • Writing job descriptions in English,

  • Sitting practice tests in maths (no need to revise this is to see where the children are currently)

  • Evaluating our bomb shelters in DT.
