Year 6

Science
This week in science we have sorted certain human characteristics into inherited, environmental or both. We have explored the statement: Variation occurs within offspring as well as between species. Focusing on potential siblings and how inherited traits can occur. Making links between this and selective breeding, we have discussed dogs and how traits are passed down from parent to offspring in breeds such as the Labradoodle.
In English, we have analysed the use of imagery and figurative language in the book, developing our own ideas which we will apply next week to a description. Isolating our sense of sound, we have listened to the sounds of underwater oceans, imagining our journey through them.
Next week we will be:
-
Continuing to describe key adaptations of animals in science,
-
Creating an abstract piece of art based on Souleymane Keita,
-
Playing a short netball game in PE,
-
Continuing to read the book, Breaker in English.
