Year 6

Religious Education

This week in religious education we have continued to explore why Christians celebrate Easter by looking at the Easter story. We have looked at the key messages and collaboratively deduced the character traits of Jesus, Peter and Judas. Looking at the famous ‘The last Supper’ painting, we were able to infer relationships between the disciples. Focusing on Jesus’ teaching his disciples by showing them how to wash other’s feet, we came up with qualities that Jesus was trying to teach through this act.

Next week is the Easter holidays. All children have been given a homework pack which they should aim to complete 10–15 minutes a day. It is important that the children revise little and often to help retention.

After Easter, we will be:

  • Writing a non-chronological report on Charles Darwin

  • Continuing to develop our attacking and defending skills in netball

  • Focusing on the author’s choice of vocabulary in guided reading
