Year 6

Thames Young Mariners and staying at school
This week, some of the children enjoyed our school trip to Thames Young Mariners in Ham. They have taken part in water activities, including canoeing and paddle boarding. The children gained a lot of independence and were very enthusiastic.
Those children who stayed at school enjoyed participating in two projects; designing an app and creating optical illusion art. The children worked collaboratively to design, research, make and advertise an app on scratch for a mobile phone. For the illusion art project, the children explored three different main effects of optical art, dimensional, illusion and movement, before deciding which they found most effective. Those who chose illusion, produced a realistic tunnel-like piece of art.
Next week we will be:
-
Continuing our rehearsals,
-
Learning all about the role of the red blood cell,
-
Starting athletics in PE,
-
Continuing learning about Humanism in R.E.
