Year 6

Citizenship week

This week we have been learning how to be good citizens. We have enjoyed completing a range of activities focusing on communication, making positive assertive choices and managing risk. On Monday we enjoyed taking part in a citizenship day at Dickerage Lane Park where we worked in small groups. As part of this, we did some activities around transition to secondary school: identifying our feelings and expectations as well as determining whether statements were fact or myth. On Thursday we participated in a short workshop from Transport For London where we learnt how to plan our journey to school and ways we can travel. We also learnt about Zip cards and how to conduct ourselves whilst on public transport.

Next week we will be:

  • Performing a dress rehearsal to other classes,

  • Continuing our SRE about safety and the changing body,

  • Looking at the role of a healthy diet and exercise on the human body in science.
